Who Maintains Himia.net

Himia.net is maintained by Ronnie Tupenko. The project is independent and is not operated by a university, corporation, advertising network, investor group, or political organization.

The purpose of the project is to build a reliable, clear, and useful chemistry reference based on open scientific information and careful data organization.

How the Project Is Funded

Himia.net is self-funded. Development, hosting, maintenance, research, design, and data organization are paid for privately by the project maintainer.

The project does not receive funding from advertisers, investors, chemical companies, lobbying groups, or organizations that could influence how scientific information is presented.

Data Sources

Scientific data on Himia.net is collected from open and authoritative chemistry resources available online. We prioritize official databases, scientific organizations, reference handbooks, and educational institutions.

Sources may include:

  • IUPAC — International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry
  • PubChem — National Center for Biotechnology Information chemical database
  • NIST Chemistry WebBook — National Institute of Standards and Technology
  • Royal Society of Chemistry chemistry resources
  • Los Alamos National Laboratory chemistry and element data
  • CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics reference data
  • WebElements chemistry database
  • European Chemicals Agency chemical information resources
  • American Chemical Society educational and reference materials
  • ChemSpider chemical structure database by the Royal Society of Chemistry
  • National Library of Medicine and NIH scientific chemistry resources
  • University chemistry department publications and public educational references

When possible, information is checked against multiple independent sources. If sources provide different values, we aim to use the most authoritative or commonly accepted value and avoid presenting uncertain data as absolute.

How Changes Are Made

Changes to Himia.net are made to improve accuracy, clarity, usability, and scientific value. Decisions are not based on advertising performance, sponsor requests, investor interests, or commercial pressure.

Updates may be made when:

  • scientific references provide updated or more accurate data;
  • users report possible mistakes or unclear explanations;
  • multiple authoritative sources indicate that a value or description should be revised;
  • analytics show that visitors need clearer structure, better navigation, or more useful comparisons;
  • scientists, educators, or chemistry-focused communities point out a way to improve the reference value of the project.

Final editorial decisions are made by the project maintainer. The guiding principle is to make Himia.net a better chemistry reference based on reliable sources, scientific usefulness, and user needs.

No Advertising, No Investors, No Agenda

Himia.net does not display advertising and does not sell editorial influence. There are no investors setting growth targets, no sponsored rankings, and no hidden agenda behind how chemical elements or scientific facts are presented.

The project exists to provide clear and trustworthy chemistry information. It does not promote products, companies, political positions, or ideological narratives.
