Mission

Our Mission

The mission of Himia.net is to make scientific data about chemical elements accessible, accurate, and beautifully presented. We are building a reference resource that helps people quickly find facts, understand relationships between element properties, and study chemistry without unnecessary noise.

Chemistry is fundamental to materials, medicine, energy, ecology, and technology. That is why high-quality information about chemical elements should be understandable not only to specialists, but also to students, teachers, developers, researchers, and anyone interested in science.

Why This Matters

Scientific data is often scattered across many places: some information is hidden in complex tables, some appears in outdated sources, and some is available only in one language or without enough context. As a result, even simple questions can require time-consuming searching and verification.

We want to solve this problem by collecting important data in one place, explaining it clearly, presenting it carefully, and making it accessible to a broad audience. A good scientific reference should be more than a collection of numbers — it should be a practical tool for understanding.

Our Values

  • Open science. We support open science and believe that fundamental scientific knowledge should be available to as many people as possible.
  • Accuracy. We aim to use verifiable data, avoid oversimplifications that distort meaning, and continuously improve the quality of the information we provide.
  • Accessibility. A reference resource should be clear, fast, and convenient — both for beginners and for experienced users.
  • Multilingualism. Science is international, so we are developing Himia.net as a resource that can be useful to people in different languages.

What Is Wrong With Existing Resources

Many chemical reference websites are either too academic and difficult to read, or too superficial. Some provide only brief facts, while others are overloaded with interface elements, advertising, or outdated design. In some cases, data differs from page to page, and sources are not clear.

Himia.net is being created as an alternative: a modern, structured, and visually clear reference where scientific accuracy is combined with a good user experience.

Long-Term Vision

Our long-term goal is to become one of the best open-source references for chemical elements and the periodic table. We want to develop the project as a platform where data, visualization, and explanations work together.

In the future, Himia.net may include more comparison tools, interactive charts, educational materials, APIs for developers, and open datasets for research and learning.

Built for Science, Not Profit

Himia.net is a non-profit-minded project built for science, education, and open access to knowledge. Its purpose is not to maximize profit, but to create a useful, honest, and sustainable scientific resource.

We believe that high-quality scientific information should be open, careful, and respectful to the user. That is why we are building Himia.net as a reference that helps people learn, explore, and better understand the world of chemistry.
